What an amazing work of art. The amount of detail is stunning. Thanks for capturing the beauty and bringing it to life.
Thanks Marla!
I agree, great shots, Frank! Can you please elaborate on how you made these photos. Are these HDRs you merged on the PC or did they come straight out of the camera like this? How much post processing did you invest? Thank you for sharing some of your secrets π
No secrets. Glad to share. Most of the images are bracketed for HDR purposes. Whenever there are extremes in lighting (in this case there were windows producing bright outside light) I generally will bracket anywhere from 3 to 7 shots. This is, of course, depending on the extremes on the dynamic range. I also use a tripod with a cable release. I use PS-CC for post-processing these images because it can produce a 32 bit file. Which gives you a ton of data to work with. As far as how much time I invest in post, my rule of thumb is if I did 2 hours of shooting, I will probably spend 2 hours on post. Hope that helps. Good luck!
Thank you, Frank, for your advice. Much appreciated and really helpful. I assume you used your “favorite” lens (7-14mm) for most of the cathedral pics, correct? In what camera did you do the bracketing? The E-M5?
Your assumption is correct and I used the EM-5 MkII.
