Atmospheric Magic In Promised Land State Park

In this video, I am going to take you to Promised Land State Park (PA), an area I have wanted to get to and am glad I finally did. When I arrived at the park the temperatures were 5 degrees F below zero. As I started my hike, the weather was no longer a factor because I was presented with an enchanted beautiful environment. There was a blanket of clouds that created a magical ethereal effect. Between the cold temperatures and the water flowing, the affect that was created was mystifying. I hope you enjoy my journey through the frigid temperatures and to see the result of what I will say is my favorite image to date in 2023. Hello Frank !
My name is Marc, living in Belgium. I have been following your website since a short while ago,
    today i saw this update,
there is only one word for it : Awesome !
After Pentax I switched to Fujifilm for a year, and for about a year now to Olympus E-M1 MK III & MK II, and recently also an EM5 MKIII.
I wish I had made the switch sooner 🙂
Take care and until your next update !

Hi Frank, nice video and images. You mention your camera, yourself, and Cooper, so I assume you did not have an additional person taking photos and video of you. Reason I ask is that I saw at least one image that had stats of 0.5 second exposure.  For me, anything like that would necessitate a tripod,  Can we assume you did use a tripod?  I did not see a tripod in your equipment list.  Or…alternatively….are your arms that steady?   🙂 Ric

Ric, Thank you and great question. I have up to 8 stops of image stabilization and therefore I often shoot up to 1.5 seconds without a tripod. I try to keep it maxed at 1/2 second. Especially on a cold day like this one. The one image of me, was taken by a friend of mine who was with me that day. Frank p.s. No tripods & my arms are not that steady 🙂
