Last weekend (10/29 & 10/30) was the annual photography expo, pdn PhotoPlus. The event is held every year at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City. This is the one place where you will find most of the well know pros and almost any imaginable photography product. Of course, you would not go there without some camera equipment. After the festivities concluded Friday evening, I thought I would take a stroll over to Times Square. The following are some of the results of that stroll:

The Windy City
I had the opportunity to be in Chicago the early part of this week. On my last day there I was able to do some sunrise photography before I had to start my work day. I was treated with an incredibly beautiful day. I also did a river tour in the afternoon.

Lynyrd Skynyrd
Just prior to leaving for India I attended a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert (everyone should experience this at least once) at Musikfest. I was fortunate to have won front row seats for the event. However, I didn’t know that photography equipment was prohibited. Thankfully, I had the Olympus PEN in a small bag & no one checked the bag. I was able to get a few shots before the “powers-to-be” told me I had to put my gear away.
Great testimony to the PEN. All of these images were shot at 1600 ISO!
Another Walk in the Park
Ava Lyn Smith
There are some things in one’s life that have significant impact. One of those is when a new member is added to the family. This past Tuesday August 17th, I became a grandfather (for the first time). We were blessed with a very beautiful granddaughter. Her name is Ava Lyn Smith and I couldn’t be more proud. A couple of weeks ago I photographed mom (Janelle).
