Auschwitz, Poland

In recognition of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, I thought I would Reblog this post from 2010. Let us hope and pray the world never experiences anything like this again.

I had the opportunity to travel to Poland, a little over a week ago, with my wife and 15 high school students from our church. Our work project was in the town of Lodz (I plan to share some of the project work images soon). Prior to arriving in Lodz, we were able to schedule a day trip to Auschwitz. This is place every human being in the world should see. Words can not explain the impact of this place. Nor can any one photograph depict the pain and suffering that must have occurred. I purposely produced these images in black & white. That is how my mind saw this place.

Philly at Sunset

Last week after the shoot at Eastern State Penitentiary, we decided we would try to capture the sunset and some associated imagery. Mother nature was very cooperative, with the exception of the below freezing temperatures.

Eastern State Penitentiary 2015

I haven’t been to ESP in several years. So when a couple friends (Christian Baki & Joe DeFloio) asked me to join them on Saturday, I hesitated. Thinking to myself “been there – done that”. Thankfully I changed my way of thinking and had a Great time. It was fun seeing ESP with a renewed vision. If you haven’t been there in a while – Do It! You won’t regret it…

Whimsical Light

Sunday evening was the first night in a while that the temperatures did not drop into the single digits. So, I thought I would take advantage of the “warmer” evening and play with some light using the Pixel Stick. The images were taken in the Bethlehem Moravian Historic area and shot using Olympus’s new “Live Composite” mode.20150111-_1111285-Edit

Happy New Year 2015

During the evening’s festivities, I snuck outside for my first images of 2015. Fortunately Mother Nature cooperated with a beautiful sky. Wishing everyone a Happy & Healthy New Year.
