Tuesday evening, a couple of Olympus shooters (Mike Boening & Victoria Diaz) invited me to join them for another Philly shoot. However, in comparison to the shoot a few weeks ago, this one took place well after sunset. Of course we picked a time where the temperatures approached the teens again. Not withstanding the temperature, we had a great time and got some fun shots. My images were taken with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 and in most cases I used “Live Composite” or “Live View” modes. You will notice in the one image looking down the river, there were helicopters circling behind the Cira Center. This was a 20+ minute exposure and made for some interesting light effects.

Eastern State Penitentiary 2015
I haven’t been to ESP in several years. So when a couple friends (Christian Baki & Joe DeFloio) asked me to join them on Saturday, I hesitated. Thinking to myself “been there – done that”. Thankfully I changed my way of thinking and had a Great time. It was fun seeing ESP with a renewed vision. If you haven’t been there in a while – Do It! You won’t regret it…

Laurel Hill Cemetery
As part of the photo shoot I did with the photogs at Eastern State Penitentiary, we also went to Laurel Hill located in the North section of Philadelphia. Laurel Hill is one of the few cemeteries in the nation to be honored with the designation of National Historic Landmark, a title received in 1998. Numerous prominent people are buried at the Cemetery, including many of Philadelphia’s leading industrial magnates. General Meade and thirty-nine other Civil War-era generals reside here, in addition to six Titanic passengers. Laurel Hill celebrated their 175th anniversary this year (1836-201).
Last month I was invited to do some photography with a group of photographers from around the country. Our focus was on Eastern Pennsylvania. Our first stop was at the Eastern State Penitentiary, located in Philadelphia. I have photographed this location in the past & always enjoy the opportunity to shoot here.
