I was asked to photograph The Lehigh Valley Health Network VIA Marathon two weeks ago. It was an amazing experience, even though it required a 5:00 in morning start. Here are a few images from the day.
This is a follow up to my last post. These images are all also from the Great Allentown Fair. However, these are all in black & white and as the title implies, they are faces.
The fair and agricultural show is held at the Allentown Fairgrounds in Allentown PA. It is operated by the Lehigh County Agricultural Society. It is one of the oldest fairs in the United States and one of the largest in Pennsylvania. The first fair was held in 1852. There are so many photographic opportunities. It is sometimes difficult to decide where to point the camera. This is part one of two posts. These images are all in color. The next post will be all black & white.
On August 16th Greg Edwards & Friends performed upstairs at Miller Symphony Hall to a sold out crowd. As a composer and professional musician, and an Endorsing Artist for Selmer (Paris) Saxophones, Greg Edwards also uses music as a vehicle to reach and inspire audiences of all ages. Last weekend I photographed the 35th Annual Wheels of Time Rod & Custom Jamboree. The event is held every year on the weekend before Labor Day. The Wheels of Time Street Rod Association is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to the art of street-rodding. The place is filled with amazing colors. During my visit, I was more focussed on some of the event’s activities and the components of the car, rather than the car itself.
I was recently asked by the Allentown Symphony Association (now Miller Symphony Hall) to be the Photographer of Record for their Jazz Cabaret Series. I was very honored to accept. Going forward my plan is to post a handful of images from each of the shows. If you enjoy jazz, as I do, they typically have an amazing lineup and it’s also an amazing venue with an incredible view of downtown Allentown. I visited Pennsylvania’s oldest American Indian gathering last week at the Museum of Indian Culture on Fish Hatchery Road in Allentown, PA. There was Indian drumming, singing, dancing, food and more.

Last month I was asked to lead another Barn Photo Workshop for the Saucon Valley Conservancy. We had a great group of participants and a great group of volunteers/models. The Conservancy will also be doing their annual Barn Tour fundraiser on September 14, 2013. It’s a great cause and a great photo opportunity!
