During the InVision Photo Festival in Bethlehem, PA earlier this month, Dan’s Camera City put on a “Film Noir” workshop. It was incredible FUN! The two Aussies, who ran the program (Shelton & Glynn) made the program a blast and informative. Mike W. was kind enough to allow me to participate the one evening. Here are a few images from the shoot.
A little over a week ago I had the opportunity to shoot at the National Museum of Industrial History (NMIH) located on the former Bethlehem Steel property in Bethlehem, PA. This was an incredible experience. The staff was extremely helpful during the couple of hours we were shooting. Their web site indicates their purpose is to tell the story of America’s Industrial achievements and the accomplishments of its inventors, managers and preserve the record of industry’s development and advancements from the middle 1800’s until present time.

This past weekend I had the opportunity to see and hear “The World’s Largest Stringed Instrument”, The Earth Harp as preformed by Mass Ensemble. The concert was held outside at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem, PA. The strings of the Earth Harp travel from the ground level and attach to the roofline of the building.
This is a beautiful church ruin and cemetery near I78 in Union NJ.
St. Michael’s Cemetery was first made popular by Walker Evans. The following photograph is his image with, Bethlehem Steel in the background, taken in 1935:
The following is my attempt at the same location. Unfortunately, the headstone in his image no longer exists.
