Follow the Flow

I like the way the flowing water takes me into the image. I captured this while hiking at Seven Tubs Recreation Area in the Pinchot State Forrest in Pennsylvania. The sun was low enough taht I didn’t need a filter to give me a slow shutter speed.

Hickory Run State Park

Recently I ventured up to Hickory Run State Park. I have not been there in many years and was pleasantly surprised to see that has not changed much. I hiked along the Shades of Death Trail to see several amazing waterfalls. It was a beautiful spring morning which one enhanced my photographic opportunity. All images were taken with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 MkII and paired with the M.Zuiko ED 12-100mm f4.0 IS PRO. The first two images were shot utilizing the Olympus High Resolution mode which creates an 80 megapixel picture.

Later in the morning I hiked the Hawk Falls Trail to Hawk Falls.

Glen Onoko Falls

Last week I ventured up to the frozen Glen Onoko Falls in Carbon County, Pa. It was incredibly beautiful. But incredibly difficult. Once you went past the first set of falls, the trail turned into a sheet of ice. It would have been almost impossible had it not been for the boot chains I had.

Fall’s Final Finale 2017

Yesterday I hiked at Jacobsburg State Park in hopes of finding some final colors of the year. To my surprise, there were vibrant colors all over the place. Temperatures in the early morning hours were in the teens. But the sunshine made up for the chill in the air. In addition to the colors, there were ice formations, reflections, fungi and did I say sunshine! All of the following images were shot handheld with the Olympus OM-D E- M1 MkII paired with the M.Zuiko ED 12-100mm f4.0 IS PRO.

Tank Hollow (foggy) Trail

This past weekend I went to a new hiking location called Tank Hollow. For those of you living in the NE, you may recall this entire part of the country was covered in heavy fog most of the weekend. I thought it would be a good opportunity to try out my trusty water resistant Olympus OM-D E-M1 MkII. I got soaked, the camera got soaked and we both lived to tell about it.
