The Other Side of Cape May

A week ago we were guests of Dave & Norita in Cape May, NJ. We traveled outside of the normal tourist area and found some interesting subject matter.

Princeton University

I spent this past Saturday with a couple dozen teenagers from my church, photographing Princeton University. I focused my time at the Princeton Chapel.

Mother’s Day Flowers

The benefits of hosting Mother’s Day at your home is that you end up with a nice variety of flowers. With a few hours to spare before the guests arrive, I was able to do some capture these images.

The Earth Harp

This past weekend I had the opportunity to see and hear “The World’s Largest Stringed Instrument”, The Earth Harp as preformed by Mass Ensemble. The concert was held outside at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem, PA. The strings of the Earth Harp travel from the ground level and attach to the roofline of the building.

Hotel Lafayette, Easton, PA

A couple of weeks ago I embarked on a new adventure in downtown Easton, PA with fellow photog Rick Holt. We were told the Hotel Lafayette was making an attempt to introduce jazz to there venue. To our delight, it turned out to be an enjoyable evening. Yes there are some rough edges to the place, but they are working hard to change the image. We had the opportunity to talk with the owners and they clearly appear to be pushing in the right direction. Here are a few images of the jazz band (unfortunately I didn’t get their name) and the bar area.

Lock Ridge Furnace Park & Blue Bells… Well, Not Really

I was told this was a great time to photograph the “Blue Bells” at Lock Ridge Furnace Park in Alburtis, PA. Well, we had a slight change in plans. It turns out, they are not Blue Bells but Grape Hyacinth aka Muscari. That aside, they were at their peak and the photo shoot worked out well.

The weather was a challenge, but it helped create a mood for these images.
