I had the honer and pleasure to lead a photowalk at one of my favorite places in the Big Apple, the High Line. The photowalk was arranged by Bergen County Camera and sponsored by Olympus. The day was slightly overcast which, for me, means Black & White. All of the images were shot using the Olympus OM-D E-M1 MkII. A favorite style I like to employ on an overcast day is using “Dramatic Tone”. This is a mode option built into the camera (most of these shots used this mode).
Hickory Run State Park
Recently I ventured up to Hickory Run State Park. I have not been there in many years and was pleasantly surprised to see that has not changed much. I hiked along the Shades of Death Trail to see several amazing waterfalls. It was a beautiful spring morning which one enhanced my photographic opportunity. All images were taken with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 MkII and paired with theΒ M.Zuiko ED 12-100mm f4.0 IS PRO. The first two images were shot utilizing the Olympus High Resolution mode which creates an 80 megapixel picture.
Later in the morning I hiked the Hawk Falls Trail to Hawk Falls.
Niagara Falls
As many of you know, I enjoy photographing waterfalls. But, I never photographed the infamous Niagara. Last year I had the opportunity to do so. I was also fortunate to arrange some shots from a helicopter. However, I wanted to schedule my visit during a time frame when it would be the least crowded. So I picked February, assuming it would be extremely cold. Luck would have it, that the temps reached into the 60 + degree Fahrenheit range. The good news was that the preceding weeks were all below freezing and there was still plenty of snow and ice around. Β All of the images were shot with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 MkII. Be forewarned, if you view the video clips and you are susceptible to motion sickness, the second clip might cause you some discomfort.

Franklin Hills Vineyard/InVision
A couple of weeks ago I lead a workshop to the Franklin Hills Vineyard on behalf of ArtsQuest for the InVision Photo Festival. We had near perfect conditions and a fantastic group of people. In addition to all of the great photo opportunities, we were able to sample some wonderful wine at the end of the day. All images are shot with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 MkII.
Fall’s Final Finale 2017
Yesterday I hiked at Jacobsburg State Park in hopes of finding some final colors of the year. To my surprise, there were vibrant colors all over the place. Temperatures in the early morning hours were in the teens. But the sunshine made up for the chill in the air. In addition to the colors, there were ice formations, reflections, fungi and did I say sunshine! All of the following images were shot handheld with the Olympus OM-D E- M1 MkII paired with theΒ M.Zuiko ED 12-100mm f4.0 IS PRO.
Bhutan
A couple of years ago I visited Bhutan with a few fellow photography friends. It is one of the most beautiful places I have had the pleasure of visiting. It is located in the Eastern Himalayas and is bordered by Tibet & India. Bhutan does not measure their success by gross domestic product, but by a happiness factor and, as such, it is noted as one of the happiest places on our earth. From a photography perspective, I found Bhutan to be one of the most beautiful and colorful places I have ever seen.
Shortly after my trip, I did I did an exhibit of my images at the State Theatre in Easton, PA. The image sizes were 48″ x 36″ and 40″ x 30″. I mention this because I often get asked, can you make large prints with the Olympus system (all images were shot with the E-5). I can tell you, without hesitation, the answer is YES.
The following is a sampling of some of my favorite Images:
